James approaches orthopedic and structural dysfunction from a neurological perspective, with an emphasis on optimizing functional movement patterns through neuromuscular re-education (mind-motor connection), postural correction, and form precision with therapeutic exercise. Treatment specializations include manual therapy, aquatic therapy, and neurological rehabilitation, with particular focus on joint mobilization, spinal manipulation, myofascial and instrument-assisted soft-tissue mobilization, active release techniques, dynamic/active stretching, as well as proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) and muscle energy techniques.
James has extensive experience treating a wide array of orthopedic and neurologic injuries, from trimalleolar ankle fractures to complex humeral (shoulder) reconstructions, acute and chronic stroke, traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), spinal cord injuries (SCIs), Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), as well as more atypical neurological crush injuries (brachial plexus, cauda equina), sustained in motor vehicle accidents, falls from height.
